What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)?
Neuro linguistic programming (NLP), is the “study of excellence.”
It was created by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the 1970’s. Since then it has gone on to become part of mainstream business training and communication.
It’s from NLP that much of my coaching is drawn. NLP contains within it the building blocks of how to think so you can achieve the results you want to achieve.
Success isn’t by chance, it is by choice.
By studying models of excellence we see there are “success strategies” they have that help them produce results. If we want their results, we need to learn how they think. This is called “modelling”. Bandler and Grinder modelled the best therapists in the world, by studying:
- how they thought
how they made decisions and
- how they behaved
They continued to do this until they could reproduce the same results as the expert they were studying.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) forms part of my Meta-Dynamic Practice and is a holistic approach to coaching a client and is used implicitly within all coaching sessions.
